As part of the Green Youth Academy project, we held our first workshop on the topic of “How to make your own deodorant at home using natural ingredients.” The event brought together young people and enthusiasts who eagerly and curiously took part in the practical activities.
What the participants learned
The workshop offered a practical experience in which everyone was able to:
- make their own deodorant;
- understand how to choose high-quality and safe raw materials;
- learn about the impact of synthetic cosmetic products on health and the environment;
- discuss ideas for other homemade alternatives to everyday products.
Why natural solutions are important
The daily use of cosmetics and personal hygiene products often leads to the accumulation of chemicals both in our bodies and in nature. Homemade deodorant is an example of how we can:
reduce pollution from plastic packaging;
limit waste;
support a healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Atmosphere and inspiration
The meeting was held in a friendly and creative atmosphere. Participants exchanged ideas, shared personal experiences, and asked questions. For many, this was their first encounter with the topic of sustainable living, while for others it was an opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills.
With this first workshop, we kicked off a series of events that will continue to inspire young people to be more active and responsible towards nature. The Green Youth Academy believes that small changes in our daily lives can lead to big results in the future.
The main goal of the workshop was to show that a sustainable lifestyle can be easy, useful, and inspiring. Using natural products in our daily lives is not only a healthier choice for our bodies, but also an important step towards protecting nature. By creating their own deodorant, participants became familiar with various natural ingredients—such as baking soda, coconut oil, and essential oils—and learned more about their properties and benefits.
