Varna Transport Library is involved in the initiative “Return the bottle, get your book!”. Presents annual readership cards to his most loyal book donors and small glass bottles. Containers for collection of perfume waste glass have already been installed in the library building and at the Port Infrastructure in Varna at Slaveikov Square 1 (next to the railway station).

Anyone who has brought at least two new editions of books or 10 older ones will receive a free reading card from the Transportation Library for 12 months. Separately, librarians will be able to select books available from the Liszt Fund at the Community Center for the Environment and Sustainable Development in exchange the bottles you carry for recycling. Books are accepted every working day from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm

The Varna Transportation Library was founded on 16th January 1963, bringing together the libraries of BMF, BDZ and Varna Port existing since the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the Library Fund has over 100,000 volumes. The huge archive of BMF, BDZ and Port has been preserved.
The library serves over 1500 readers and their families annually.
After 2000 it is accessible to all citizens of Varna and the region. Library professionals working there have reported the return of young people to books in recent years.
