The project “Green Fridays for Youth” came to a sweet end thanks to the last workshop where the participants were introduced to the world of healthy chocolate. The topic was not only delicious, but also inspiring, because the host of the event, Ilian Iliev – a lover of healthy eating, shared with them his knowledge and passion for clean products.

Why healthy chocolate?

The aim of this last workshop was to show that chocolate can be not only a pleasure but also a healthy food. In its traditional versions, chocolate often contains large amounts of sugar and additives that reduce its nutritional value. Ilian Iliev demonstrated how with a few simple ingredients, cocoa and natural sweeteners, chocolate can be made that retains the valuable nutrients of cocoa.

Participants first learned where cocoa comes from and how it is processed to become chocolate. Ilian introduced everyone to the main differences between different types of chocolate and their health benefits. Then came the most interesting part – the practical part. Everyone got the opportunity to take part in making their own chocolate. The participants chose the ingredients themselves and experimented with mixtures of nuts, dried fruits and natural flavours.

At the end of the workshop everyone had their own chocolate, which was not only delicious, but also unique – the result of their personal preferences and experiments.

The Green Fridays for Youth project ended with smiles and new knowledge about healthy eating. Through these meetings and workshops, young people not only learned about healthy practices and sustainable habits, but also developed their skills to make informed choices for their health and well-being.
