On June 21, the second workshop of our summer project “Green Fridays for Youth” took place, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and creativity among young people.

The theme of the second workshop was the transformation of used old paper into beautiful recycled paper, adorned with seeds and flowers. The idea was not only to give new life to waste material but also to create a product that could be useful. This unique technique provided the youth with the opportunity to develop their skills and imagination while learning about the importance of sustainable development and environmental protection.

A special guest speaker at the event was Ellen Sabatini. She inspired attendees with her extensive experience and innovative approaches to recycling. Ellen demonstrated a number of interesting and creative techniques for creating recycled paper, including how to add seeds and flowers into the process so that the final product would be both beautiful and environmentally friendly.

During the workshop, participants actively engaged in various stages of the process—from collecting and preparing the old paper, to grinding and shaping it, and finally adding seeds and flowers.

Each participant took home their own handmade recycled paper, which can be used for various purposes such as a greeting card, bookmark, or planting to grow flowers from it.
