At the end of the summer, during the summer eco-camps in the village of Ezerets, a very inspiring and educational workshop was held with our agronomist Kristiana Opreva. Dedicated to the topic of green roofs and their role in sustainable development. Participants had the unique opportunity to not only learn more about the environmental benefits of green roofs, but to actively participate in the planting. The plant we used for this part was sedum. Sedum, with its hardiness and ability to survive in a variety of climates, is the perfect plant for rooftop gardens. It has the ability to retain water, making it perfect for stormwater management, while also adding aesthetic value to the roof. Participants were actively involved in the planting process and learned hands-on how to maintain these green roofs to be effective and long-lasting.
