After nearly two years of negotiations with the mayoralty of Mladost district, Dimitar Dimitrov manages to obtain the permission for planting 25-30 perennial trees in Varna. Afforestation will be held this weekend. The designated location is Vazrajdane quarter, between Nikola Y. Vaptsarov Primary School and block 37. In order to do that, Dimitar is recruiting 20 volunteers.

The 27-year-old man decide to donate and plant trees in Varna at the beginning of last year. In the spring of 2018, he submitted an application to the district mayoralty for planting 100 perennial trees. After that, during a meeting with the landscaping specialists of the area, he realized that there were no designated landscaping sites at the moment. Therefore they allowed him to plant some trees near a playground in the area.

However, Dimitar didn’t give up his idea. “With some friends we set up a Youth Initiative Committee in the spring of 2019. On behalf of the committee I filled the same application that clearly stated dozens of acres where, according to the cadastre, there’s municipal property that can be landscaped” he said. Whether because the year is an election year or for other reasons, Dimitar manages to arrange for the planting of 25 trees this time.

Dimitar Dimitrov and his wife are accountants, they have an office in Varna. “As immodest as it may sound, our customers are very pleased. This affects our annual balance sheet. We decided to share our success with everyone by donating”, this is how the young man from Varna motivates his desire to organize the afforestation action.

We hope his example will be contagious!
