The oldest active environmental organization in Varna is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a revamped environmental education campaign. The Public Center for Environment and Sustainable Development (PCESD) offers citizens, companies, and organizations in the region training designed to motivate people to take small daily steps to protect the environment.

The Eco Academy is in sync with the organization’s 30th anniversary and its mission to make environmental protection a personal interest for everyone. During the training, visitors can learn about the overall state of the environment and the role of humans in it. Special attention is paid to the power to make a positive impact through personal involvement and the simple actions we can take to create a better place to live around us.

The idea for the training arose from our long-standing observations that more and more people are aware of the critical state of the environment, but increasingly lack the motivation for civic action, commented Ilian Iliev, Chairman of the Board of PCESD.

The aim of the training is to support teams of companies that are planning corporate social responsibility programs or want to report their impact on the environment in line with the EU directives of the so-called “Omnibus Sustainability Package” (CSRD/CSDDD).
