Today, June 5th, on World Environment Day, the Public Center for Environment and Sustainable Development announces the launch of the #transformation challenge.
We look at the photo from the Sea Garden, which takes us back a century. The year inscribed on the plaques is no coincidence. In 1926, Varna officially transformed, stepping onto the European stage as a modern resort city with the opening of the Central Sea Baths. Since then, this place has preserved millions of memories, encounters, summer romances, and family stories.
Our history inspires us, but the #transformation today depends on us – on how we keep our nature and heritage clean for those who come after us.
JOIN THE CHALLENGE AND WIN AN ECO-PRIZE!
Do you have an old photo of your parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents from the Sea Baths or the beach in Varna in your family archive? Or perhaps you yourself have an unforgettable memory from this place? Share them with us!
How to participate:
1️⃣ Follow our Facebook page! Share an old family photo or a personal story related to the Sea Baths or Varna as a resort city under the #transformation post.
2️⃣ Write us a one-sentence answer: What is your favorite way to keep the Sea Garden and the beach clean today?
3️⃣ Use the hashtag #transformation.
The prizes: On June 20th – International Surfing and Ocean Cleanup Day – we will randomly draw five winners who will receive a special “Green Beach Pack” (a branded eco-bag, a T-shirt, an autographed beach read book, and a limited-edition postcard).
Dig through your archives, ask your grandparents, and tell us the story of Varna through photos!
