How to disprove fake news and misinformation related to climate change through visual simulation models showing the impact of human activity on climate. The En-ROADS climate simulator provides an opportunity. How to use the tool for training purposes was presented during the forum “Together with us in the fight against misinformation”, which took place during the week in Varna. The Climate Awareness Tool, developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, was demonstrated by Apostol Penkov of the Public Center for Environment and Sustainable Development.
How to enter the educational process in the form of a role-playing game can be shown live to students in the school year 2023/2024. This can be done upon expressions of interest from teachers and principals of schools in Varna and the region at: info@ecovarna.info. It is completely free of charge thanks to the Simulator-Simulator project funded by the Vivacom Regional Grant.
During the forum the first of its kind educational product “Guide for teachers and trainers about fake news” was also shown. Speakers and guests discussed the topic “Misinformation and fake news in the context of the digital world”, presented by Milena Veselinova, Marketing Coordinator at DataArt.
