The first edition of “Project ECO” – the competition of young people, in which they find solutions to a pressing environmental problem in Bulgaria, starts on June 10.

The initiative aims to meet new and fresh ideas with the good practices of some of the leading companies in our country. The competition is open to participants between the ages of 15 and 30. Their task will be to develop a workable, functional and economically possible solution to a current environmental problem in Bulgaria.

Project ECO is supported by the Public Environmental Center for Sustainable Development, Greenpeace-Bulgaria and For the Land. The idea for its creation is the work of 20-year-old Ivaylo Tsochev, who has been organizing events and initiatives related to ecology and sustainable business for several years. His company “Zero Waste Bulgaria” is aimed precisely at promoting kits for environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Soon on the website https://projecteco.eu will be announced the full conditions of the competition, the prizes, the topics related to the project, as well as the partners who will have the difficult task to implement the winning projects.

To talk about “tomorrow”, we need to talk about “eco” today. Because nature follows its own rules, and in front of them we are powerless when we choose to be its enemies. The creation of an ecological culture in a society depends mostly on faith – in one’s own abilities and in the youth. And sometimes good ideas need the support of experience.
