Healthy foods entered the Varna primary school “Petko R. Slaveykov” in the form of posters, collages, brochures and calendars, with which some of the children introduced their classmates to healthy habits. After learning what a food pyramid is and which foods help us grow healthy, the students participated in real culinary workshops, in which they put their knowledge into practice. They got involved in sports activities that are part of a healthy lifestyle and in cleaning the beach.
The activities are part of the “We choose health” project under the Erasmus + program, funded by the European Union. The project is a key activity for cooperation and exchange of good practices between school partners.
Its main goal is to introduce and promote a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating, the risk of obesity in children, lack of vitamins and minerals in poor nutrition.
The project started last year and will last until 2021. Five countries are participating in it – Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy, which is the coordinator.
