If you have never slept under the stars … If you have not felt the soil with your feet … If you have not eaten under a thatched roof … If you have not bathed in sun water … You have not been to #EcoCampEzerets.
Unlike “The Farm”, which you watch on the screen from the couch, here you can feel the real taste of life – simple, but not ordinary, tasty, but also bitter from time to time, calm and always ready to surprise you. And if you start to miss the convenience of the big city, you can always leave. Ezerets is only 7 km from Shabla and 86 km from Varna.
For 10 years, every summer, the Public Environmental Center for Sustainable Development has been holding 4-day camps for eco-building and environmentally friendly living. For the first time this summer, three camp shifts were organized. In Season 10 of #EcoCampEzerets participated 25 young people, people with a youthful spirit and children. As every summer, the volunteers lived in tents “just below the stars.” They learned to cook using the “slow food” method. They got to know the history of Ezerets and projected its future with Elen Sabatini, secretary of the local community center. They were knitting rugs from used plastic bags with Aunt Mary. They mixed clay and straw plasters with Ilian Iliev. They listened to the stories about the lake of the local fisherman Dimo.
The eco-center in the village of Ezerets is built entirely of natural materials. There is a wooden dining pavilion, a summer kitchen, a sunbathing area and a composting toilet. They were built by volunteers who visit the camp every summer. Last year, “EcoCamp Eezerts” won third place in the competition for “Most significant volunteer initiative 2019”, organized on the occasion of the International Volunteer Day by the Municipality of Varna.
Until new meetings of “Ezerets 2021”!
