A climate protest will be held in Varna on September 20 (Friday) at 6:30 pm at the entrance of the Sea Garden, in front of the Festival and Congress Center. The protest is part of a Climate Strike that should involve more than 1,000 cities in 115 countries.
The strike is held three days before the UN Climate Summit. The aim is to draw public attention to climate change and environmental protection.
The climate strike is similar to the “Fives for the Future” protest, started by Swedish schoolgirl Greta Thunberg. Thunberg did not go to school every Friday to protest outside the government building that nothing was being done to fight climate change.
This Friday, not only students will participate in the rallies. Thousands of corporate offices around the world will be joined, with employees leaving their jobs to protest global warming inaction.
The initiative in Varna is organized by Petats for the Future – Bulgaria.
