She is a mother of two and a dreamer. She still believes the world can be a better and cleaner place. And small changes in our habits can have a big effect in this direction, believes Boryana Popova. And what she dedicates herself to is causing small changes.
You’re marketing an eco-friendly innovation – Terra Wash+Mg – that would make a difference to our lives if it came into mass use. Is it? And why?
– It is! The ecological innovation is a Japanese magnesium eco powder – 99.95% pure. We can only wash with magnesium. It is extracted from the oceans, we use it for washing and then with the waste water it is returned to nature – to the ocean – where it “came from”. Something like a cycle!
How does the magnesium change?
– In just about 10 minutes, it makes the water alkaline with a PH of 10.30, which inhibits the growth of bacteria. Magnesium does not irritate the skin, and by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that can trigger allergies, it also has a hypoallergenic effect.
Washing with Terra Wash+Mg is antibacterial and hypoallergenic, fragrance free.
Accordingly, the product is suitable for people with dermatological problems, allergies, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, young children, babies, and anyone without the above problems.
In addition, the product cleans the washing machine of the biofilm that accumulates when using liquid detergents and which is a breeding ground for bacteria, mold, mildew. When washing with Terra Wash+Mg – no such film is formed and the washing machine remains clean.
How did you discover magnesium washing powder? Or rather, how did he discover you?
– He discovered me – or rather the importers – in 2020. I had a tech blog and as the product was innovative – they suggested I do a review. I initially declined as I’m not that kind of “influencer” but understanding it was Japanese – I perked up my J ears and was willing to at least give it a try, no commitment.
Was there any skepticism before trying it?
– Extremely high! I was sure it was a sham and wouldn’t work. The market was flooded with all sorts of contraptions. I agreed to try it, convinced it wouldn’t wash, or at least not as much as I needed – as a mother of two young boys – the daily laundry challenges were great and my expectations high J
But it turns out I was wrong! With the very first load of laundry – I capitulated to my skepticism. The test was with all the dirtiest I could find and my amazement was great when I pulled clean clothes out of the washer.
Still – I loaded a new washing machine. Somehow I didn’t want to believe it J And so 3 times until I somehow believed it was really washing. After that – I liked how it washed so much – the clothes were shining, like new, that I didn’t rest until I had washed everything with it J It was a big wash at first.
What are the three big advantages of this product that you discovered when you first used it in your household?
– Many will be surprised here, but … I didn’t expect to like the lack of fragrance. After all, I’m a woman and that’s important to me. Or so I thought. I had even bought scents for my laundry, including essential oils, but I didn’t need to use them.
The moment I reached to put on fragrance, I was overwhelmed by – what does it smell like – no fragrance. And I was amazed that the laundry just smelled clean, fresh, baby. I never used the scents, and until that moment I didn’t even suspect there were any. And after a while, I threw them away.
The second big advantage is cleaning the washer. In the days before, I had come across a great fabric softener that had started to make the washer smell really bad and I had a hard time cleaning it. I stopped using fabric softeners, but Terra Wash+Mg has solved that problem altogether and I’m relaxed.
And thirdly – the antibacterial and hypoallergenic action – I have peace of mind that the clothes are not only clean, but also sanitized, and also do not provoke the triggering of allergies in the family.
True, Terra Wash+Mg is an environmentally friendly product that does not pollute water and does not harm health or the environment. But is it more economical than traditional powders on the market?
– Terra Wash+Mg is a reusable product. It is bought once and used at least 365 times – or 1 year if you wash every day. In that time, you won’t be throwing away the plastic tubes of liquid detergent either.
And for the price – 1 wash comes out to 27 pennies, making it quite a bargain. The price has been that way since it came out, it hasn’t been raised, but I expect an increase the next time it comes out.
And the next scepticism instilled in us by the ads – will white be white enough?
– If white laundry is not mixed with coloured laundry – it will be. But there’s a little trick here – add some sodium percarbonate to the product. The product contains only magnesium and no additives for “bleaching”
Are there any restrictions when using Terra Wash+Mg, such as washing temperature, spin speed, adding other detergents, etc.?
– No restrictions. It washes well in both hot and cold water, both soft and hard. The general recommendation is to wash at 40 degrees on a 60 minute cycle, as the lower temperature saves the environment – it saves electricity.
Rinsing can be omitted as no suds are formed. And it can be mixed with other washing powder, stain product or fragrances.
How has this product changed your career path?
– I’ve always looked at this product as caring – for nature, family, people. But for me, it’s become a mission and part of my professional path. So the change is for good!
