On the eve of World Bee Day – May 20, our colorful and fun Bee Garden in the village of Ezerets, Shabla Municipality, welcomed its first visitors for 2026. Curious little ones from “Margaritka” Kindergarten in Varna took a peek inside a real beehive. The children observed the life of the bees in real-time through a transparent glass wall, specially built into the hive. They saw beehives in various shapes. They spun the honey extractor. They enjoyed not only the delicious honey but also a special honey cake with homemade lemonade. Of course, they got up close with the most popular bee, Elen, and smelled all kinds of bee products. Above all, however, they learned that the bee is more than just honey—it is an entire universe, without which our lives would be impossible.
The special guide for this incredible adventure was our heartfelt expert ecologist and beekeeper, Elen Sabatini.
And our first visitors for this year were no coincidence. “Margaritka” Kindergarten is among the first in Bulgaria to join the innovative international program Neuromindset, based on developmental cognitive neuroscience. The program transforms scientific discoveries in this field into practical tools for the classroom and for life.
