Location of the public territory: Park – monument “Crane Peak” (known as the Monument of Rest or the Bulgarian-Soviet friendship).

Current condition: The place has been abandoned and unmaintained for many years. The bad thing is that there is an intensive construction process in the lowest part of the park, which is at a very advanced stage.

The place symbolizes the failure of the local government to protect one of the largest and most visited parks in the city of Varna.

Project idea: To restore the complex. Reconstruct the central axis and fill and secure all tunnels and bunkers under it to avoid new deformations over time.

To improve the landscape and to afforest the whole terrain, to add park elements and sports facilities. Design new accessible paths and routes at each level.

To reconstruct the concrete body of the monument. The project envisages building the bird’s body from ecological building materials.

To repair the interior of the monument, as its main purpose will be for an ecological school, ecological center.
Let this monument not be accepted as a symbol of an irretrievably past epoch, but as a new beginning of the life of our city.
