The first meeting of the newly elected Varna City Council will be held on 11th November 2019 (1 pm) in the municipality’s Plenary Hall.
Before the beginning of the session, the mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih, the mayors of districts and settlements in the municipality as well as all 51 councilors will take the oath.
Traditionally the meeting will be chaired by the oldest municipal councilor, for this term it’s Dimitar Chuturkov (BSP). There is only one point on the agenda – the election of Speaker of the local parliament. The election will be by secret ballot, to be elected the candidate has to receive more than half the votes of the total number of advisers.
