February 2, 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of the adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. It is the first global international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in modern history. It is still the only treaty focused on specific ecosystems such as wetlands. They are often referred to as the “kidneys of the planet” because they act as natural filters that purify water.
Bulgaria is represented on the Ramsar Convention list with 11 wetlands, two of which are on the northern Black Sea coast – Durankulak Lake and Shabla Lake. Our place, the Ezerec eco-camp, is located right between these two places, and our Straw House mission is dedicated to it.
To support the conservation of wetlands and the development of the Ezerec eco-camp as a “living laboratory” for sustainable development, we are offering some of our products for a cause:
Only until February 10, everyone who purchases Terra Wash+Mg – Japanese eco-friendly magnesium powder that helps keep our waters clean – will receive a free copy of the book #AzPravaEcoVarna and a postcard “Far from the Concrete City.”
And this is our special notebook “The Unknown Paradise,” which will introduce you to some of the animals that inhabit the wetlands of the Northern Black Sea coast.
