On two consecutive Fridays of our favorite “Green Fridays” we managed to implement another successful initiative. In addition to exchanging empty perfume bottles for a book, this time we included an additional gift – small trees to be planted in gardens, yards, and forests by our participants.
A total of 14 people took part in this action and contributed to the success of the event with their enthusiasm and commitment. During these two Fridays, 20 trees were distributed and over 30 empty perfume containers were returned to be recycled. This is another step towards our shared mission of a greener and more sustainable environment.
We would especially like to express our gratitude to the youngest participant in the initiative, who enthusiastically showed that caring for nature has no age limits.
We hope that the trees given out will do well, and we will be happy to watch them grow. Share with us photos and stories about your newly planted trees so we can continue to monitor the positive impact of this initiative together.
Here are some tips on how to take care of your fir tree:
Before you plant it, make a hole in the dirt that is a little wider and a little deeper than its root system. Clean it well. Remove stones and provide loose soil underneath and on the sides to allow the roots to develop freely. You can put some peat or compost in the bottom of the hole, but if you don’t have any, it’s not fatal.
It is good to have a stable tree for the first year. It is therefore a good idea to drive a few stakes around it and secure the stem with ropes. Water the newly planted tree thoroughly. This will give it the moisture it needs, but will also seal the cavities in the soil. Water your fir tree regularly during the first year, especially on hot days, to help it grow healthy.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our mission for a cleaner and greener nature! We look forward to seeing you at the next Green Fridays! We would also like to thank Forest.bg and No Till Bulgaria who provided us with the trees.
