More than 40 children and young people from Varna will explore the world below sea level this summer. They will learn to dive and identify the underwater world with identifiers. They will explore and photo document coastal marine ecosystems. They will describe and photograph specific bottom areas with characteristic and well-preserved representatives of bottom flora and fauna. They will take bottom samples off wild beaches and buoys for seawater pollution analysis. Last but not least, they will participate in informal training sessions on “The Living World of the Black Sea” and “The Sea is not for a Holiday”.
All this will happen under the project “The Living World of the Black Sea”, implemented by the Sea Club “Friends of the Sea”, said the club’s chairwoman Darina Ivanova.
The aim of the project is through attractive activities to familiarize children and young people with the marine flora and fauna of the Black Sea and to educate an active attitude towards its conservation. The project activities will be implemented until the end of October along the Northern Black Sea coast, in the areas of Varna, Kavarna, Shabla and Tyulenovo. They are implemented with the financial support of Vivacom Regional Grant.
