The Center for Sharing and Supporting Working Citizens’ Initiatives and Practices will open next year in Varna. It will be located in the shared space Kubrick Work Room, 14 Sava Radulov Street, and online at ecovarna.info. The Center will be implemented under the project “Improving public awareness of the role of the civic organization for the community”. The initiator and implementer of the project is the Public Environmental Center for Sustainable Development (PECSD).
In addition to consultations and workshops, the center will also organize civic campaigns on current social issues. Green Fridays and eco-shops for citizens will continue to grow, but in a new form. A system of online information tools will be developed to promote the work of civil organizations in Varna. The most successful civic activities will be presented to the Varna public during annual forums.
The project lasts 33 months. It is implemented with the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism. The main objective of the project is to improve the awareness of citizens about the role of NGOs in society.
