More than 80,000 different chemical compounds are used by man in his daily routine. Every year, new 2000s are put into use. They are everywhere – in fragrances, soaps, detergents, softeners, abrasives and specialized cleaners for baths, glass, sewage, ovens, etc. These products affect our health – irritate the skin and respiratory tract, cause watery eyes, chemical burns, hormonal imbalances, blood diseases, and more. The tasks of the Public Environmental Center for Sustainable Development (PECSD) are to engage the attention of a wide group of citizens with the problem, to explore commercially available alternatives to environmentally friendly preparations and to share them with as many people as possible.
